KCR Protocol Level 1 Workshop
Restore Balance, Release Potential, and Thrive.
All Are Welcome.
What Is KCR?
Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) is a medically recognized, full-body rebalancing protocol that brings the body back to a balanced and energized state. Developed by Scottish physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert in 1990, KCR follows a precise 23-step sequence that systematically releases tension and restores alignment throughout the entire body — often improving, and even resolving, many chronic physical ailments in the process.
This gentle, non-invasive treatment uses mobilizations and stretches to release fascia (connective tissue) from head to toe. It is deeply restorative and suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions.

Why KCR?
Simple, yet powerfully effective. KCR is a complete, holistic whole-body reset that enhances physical performance, supports recovery, and promotes long-term wellbeing.
Evidence-based. A peer-reviewed, scientifically validated protocol that integrates seamlessly into any clinical or wellness setting.
Proven results. Many clients experience significant relief — and often complete resolution — of chronic pain in the back, hips, knees, and shoulders, along with a wide range of other conditions.
Versatile. Sessions are performed fully clothed, making KCR easy to offer in massage therapy, fitness, or wellness studio environments.
Practitioner-friendly. Deliver powerful results without physical strain — ideal for bodyworkers seeing clients back-to-back.
Fast-track your career. In just two days, you'll gain the hands-on experience and professional qualification needed to step into practice with confidence.

Meet Your Instructor: Kim Maxwell
"I help others to release, rebalance, and reconnect to their entire being — so they can expand and thrive."
Hi, I'm Kim — the first KCR Instructor in Canada, with a lifelong passion for wellness and healing, and a deep commitment to sharing this transformative work.
My journey with KCR began in Costa Rica, where I felt an immediate, intuitive yes to the training before I even fully understood what it was. At the time, I was dealing with stubborn chronic neck pain and a frozen piriformis — both were gone after just two sessions. That personal breakthrough sparked a global journey to the USA and Scotland to complete my Instructor Certification, so I could bring this powerful work home to Canada.
I bring over 15 years of experience in the wellness industry as the owner of Soma Pacifica (formerly Intuitive Heart Wellness), working with clients as a Certified Intuitive Coach, and teaching as a certified Yoga Instructor and Meditation Teacher. My certification in Connective Tissue Release (CTR) and training as a Reiki Practitioner round out a background rooted in both the art of healing and the art of teaching.
One of my greatest joys is watching students walk away from this two-day workshop feeling confident, capable, and ready to change lives — starting with their own.

What students are saying....
"Learning KCR from Kim was a rich experience. Kim's delivery of the material was infused with confidence and good humour which immediately put us at ease as we set out to cover two days of intense learning. Not only was Kim a patient, clear, and encouraging instructor, she also kept a perfect pace going through the curriculum. I never felt bored or rushed. Kim brought an infectious blend of reverence and enthusiasm to this workshop — she clearly loves and believes in the healing power of KCR, and now we do as well!" — Lisa Frede, M.A., Registered Clinical Councellor
"The KCR Training was a great experience and amount of hands-on time made the learning practical and easy to integrate right away. Kim is a kind, supportive and engaging instructor, and the course felt both approachable and valuable. Since taking it, I’ve seen great results with some of my clients, including less hip clicks, more spring in their running stride, and even a few saying they needed to adjust their rear view mirror after treatment because they were sitting taller! They have also mentioned a feeling of “more balance” through the body. Im really glad to have learned level 1 and will absolutely be there for the next level!" - Kim Cameron, RMT
"Thank you Kim for the excellent KCR training. A wonderful experience and an important milestone in my path of continuous learning." — Gagan Deep, Manual Osteopath, Abbotsford, BC
